About Michael Mills
I am a Canadian who has been living here in the Playa Hermosa,
Playas del Coco area for over 15 years. After visiting my sister back in the
mid 90's I fell in love with the country and it's people, It took me another 3
years of research and courage to sell my business and home and head south, way
south! I have always been a sailor so what better job than to buy a 36 ft
catamaran and Captain sunset and snorkeling sailing trips through the Gulf of
Papagayo. All this while selling real estate for Partners real Estate, there we
NO brand name real estate companies here then. One of my part time captains
flipped the boat in the first year, no injuries except my bank account, then
9-11, then the War, then the recession, but as you can see I am still here
smiling and enjoying life. Sailing is
fun when you are doing it for pleasure but it gets real old fast when you are
doing it for a living so in 2005, after some gentle persuasion, I joined Remax
and opened the Remax Prestige Ocean Properties office in Panama, Guanacaste for
the brokers, Michael Simons and Chris Simmons. As the Associate Broker I manage
this office as well as our newest sub office at Matapalo in Lomas Del Mar, a
600 acre residential community. This is my home and I take great pride in
knowing the area inside out and being able to advise newcomers on everything
they need to know to purchase here. After all we will be neighbors meeting
weekly in the grocery store, local restaurants, at the movie theatre or on the
beach.
My wife Josta and I live in Playa Hermosa, Josta just wrote her
real estate license courses and is ready to ‘take over” if I am not careful…….maybe
this is a good thing?

professionals ranging from lawyers, accountants, bank managers, Immigration
Specialists to builders who can assist in the transition of moving or investing
in Costa Rica. Honest, factual information.
